My interest in family research started with the discovery of a box of old family photos. With no idea who the people in the pictures might be, I wanted to find out more. An interest turned into a hobby and then a career!
I can undertake research for any location.
My speciality is in Scottish research. As I'm based in Edinburgh, I have good access to the National Records of Scotland and the National Library of Scotland. Many other archives such as Glasgow City Archives, are within easy reach.
I have a Masters degree (with distinction) in Genealogical Studies from the University of Strathclyde, and I'm a member of the Register of Qualified Genealogists (RQG) and the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG).

"I've been researching my family's history for almost twenty years and am a pretty confident user of online resources such as Ancestry, My Heritage and - for ancestors north of the border - Scotland's People.
But there are times when the DIY approach isn't enough: when you need the help of someone who knows the difference between 'dispone' and 'dispose', that an 'intromission' isn't when you eat your ice cream half way through a play and where to find documents only available in hard copy at a specific location.
Pauline seems entirely un-phased by legal and financial terms and has the knack of knowing when to look where for what. I feel we've established a good partnership where I do the easy stuff while she takes on the tougher assignments and plan to throw more technical challenges her way in the months to come!"

"Pauline researched my Family Tree recently. She discovered many facts previously unknown to us and presented it in a very engaging and interesting way. She used historic events which were happening at the time to allow us to understand family decisions and movement in a most powerful way.
Pauline also included photographs and documents, some of which we had requested, that we had been unable to access. She was very responsive to our questions and specific family interests.
We are delighted with the completed Genealogy Report and Family Tree and it will be a valuable part of our family history going forward.
I would recommend Pauline to anyone who is keen to find out more about their family. Her professionalism and attention to detail are second to none."

"So pleased with the report Pauline produced of our family tree. The level of detail and information provided far exceeded our expectations. Our only regret is that we didn't do this sooner and we would have been able to share much of this research with older members of the family no longer alive.
Not only did Pauline provide us with names and significant dates, she also provided nuggets of information researched from newspaper archives and other sources which has given us us a real insight into the lives of our relatives and some great family stories to share.
We are intending to engage Pauline again, this time to research the maternal side of our family, We would thoroughly recommend you contact Pauline if you are thinking of researching your family tree."
"Amazing customer service. Clear and interesting report received within the timescales set out. Information included not only the names and dates, but also a little bit of insight into life and politics around the time to give some context, really livened up the report. I would most definitely recommend Pauline."
"Amazing report. Thank you for all your wonderful help."
"Excellent report. I found it fascinating and I am grateful for the way in which you have approached this research."
"I am thrilled. I was unexpectedly emotional reading your report. It has given me a distinct sense of not only where I'm from, but a new understanding of where I am now and how unbelievably fortunate I am."
